Google Tests a New Business Profile Performance Report
If you check the Performance section of your Google Business Profile, it may soon look very different. Google appears to be testing a redesigned version of the report. Early screenshots show new sections for engagement, reviews, search trends and audience.
What's being tested
On October 23, 2026, Search Engine Roundtable reported that Google is testing a revamped Performance report for Business Profiles. The report is based on screenshots and a video from two people who can already see it: Jaikishan Raturi of Wisevu, and Syed Amir.
Based on those screenshots, the new report has these sections:
- Overview – general performance metrics, plus a recommendations area from Google.
- Engagement – engagement metrics.
- Reviews – a more detailed view of your reviews.
- Search trends – search trend data for your profile.
- Audience – information about the people who view your profile.
Search Engine Roundtable does not describe the exact metrics inside each section. The screenshots show light and dark modes.
Barry Schwartz of Search Engine Roundtable said he has not seen the new report himself. He wrote that it "seems like a very big improvement from the old/current performance report." He also noted that it is somewhat duplicative with Google Business Home, the new portal that was reported the day before.
What we don't know yet
This is a limited test, and it has only been reported by industry observers so far. Google has not announced it or commented on it. We don't know:
- how many businesses can see it, or in which countries,
- whether it will roll out to everyone, or when,
- which metrics each section will show, or whether any of today's metrics will change or disappear.
Treat the details above as an early look, not a final product.
What to do
You don't need to change anything right now, but this is a good moment to tidy up how you track your profile:
- Save a baseline. Open your current Performance report and note (or screenshot) your views, calls, website clicks and direction requests for recent months. If the layout changes, you'll still have numbers to compare against.
- Look at actions, not just totals. A rising total can hide falling calls. Check each action separately. Remember that "calls" counts clicks on the Call button, not confirmed phone calls.
- Keep an eye on reviews. Reply to recent reviews now, especially negative ones. A detailed reviews section would make patterns easier to spot.
- Check if you have it. If your Performance section suddenly shows sections like Engagement, Reviews, Search trends and Audience, you may be in the test. Read the recommendations it shows you.
Performance shows what happens with your profile. It does not show where you appear on Google Maps in different parts of your area. The free check from LocaloCare searches Google Maps from 25 points around your business and shows the 3 places Google shows instead of you.
